James And the Giant Peach
James and the Giant Peach is another classic by Roald Dahl. First published in 1961 this dazzling book has still keep its exhilarating title. James is a young boy who has run into some trouble as his parents have just been eaten by rhino’s. He’s then sent off to live with his two evil aunts, Aunt Sponge who’s as fat as a cow and Aunt Spiker who’s as skinny as a twig. Although their sizes are very different, they share one thing, hatred towards children. Now they have one all to themselves. They live on the tip top of the very highest mountain in England.
Join James on his quest with his two evil aunts, and lots of mysterious creatures. Varying from gigantic grasshoppers, ladybugs, worms, centipedes, glow worms, and even overgrown silkworm’s plus many many more.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a very simple but thoroughly sensational read. This is a very short book, I also feel the characters were very well introduced and thoroughly enjoyed their personalities as they were well described. I would recommend this book to almost all readers especially fantasy lovers!
