HomeworkChallenge- Spending a night out in the bush

Spending a night out in the bush

When:
On April the 3rd to the 4th my Dad, my Uncle Nigel, my Cousin Ethan and I spent a night out in the Kamai's bush near the State Highway 29.

Equipment:
We took with us two air rifles, two slingshots, one compound bow along with six arrows, 2 Tents and the other average camping gear.

The Plan:
The reason we brought the weapons with us was because my cousin and uncle both live in Hong Kong,  China(my cousin has grown up mostly in China). My dad and my uncle Nigel spent lots of time camping when they were boys (11 to 19 years of age) and they wanted to share their growing up experiences with me and my cousin.

We were planning on going possum and rabbit hunting. Unfortunately we ended up not being able to because the weather was miserable with us being out the weekend the drought over the North Island showed signs of breaking!  So instead we aimed at some targets. One of the target's was a giant polystyrene board which we stuck lots of balloons to.

The Camp site.
The site we chose was a short walk from the car on the edge of farm land.  It backed onto native bush and offered us some shelter from the rain, until the trees got soaked and started dropping massive drops of water into our chicken resoto we were cooking for tea.

We had two tents, one blue with the other red and cream. In the blue tent Ethan and I had set up we had 2 sleeping bags a green and a purple one, our luggage which consisted mainly of tog's, towels, warm clothes, Pajamas, Extra blankets and some spare clothing we also had a bag with marbles, slingshots, whistles and a few other nick nacks. While in my Dad and my Uncle's tents their was the guns, a humongous chili bin with all our food (eggs, bacon etc), the rest there sleeping bags and their luggage/ clothing.
